Healthy Apple bars
Ingredients
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
¼ cup honey
1 egg
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 apple, chopped, skin and core removed
½ tsp baking powder
½ cup unsalted peanuts, chopped
Method
Mix the ingredients in a bowl.
Grease the baking pan thoroughly.
Line the pan with an 8 by 8 by 2-inch wax paper.
Spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
Take it out when the edges turn brown.
Allow it to cool down and turn it on wire rack.
Remove the wax paper and cut into bars.
Yield: 22 bars
Note: Use only if your dog is non-reactive to gluten. For a gluten-free version, use ragi or millet aata in place of wheat and oat flour.
Peanut butter carob dog biscuits
Ingredients
6 Tbsp unsweetened applesauce
¼ cup honey
½ cup of vegetable oil
½ cup all-natural peanut butter, no sugar or salt added
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 ½ cups oat flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup carob chips or powder (available on Amazon under ‘pet products’)
2 eggs
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda
Method
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Make 1-inch balls of the dough with your hands.
Place them 3 inches apart on a baking sheet.
Flatten each ball with a fork.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
The cookies should be firm to the touch.
Take them out and allow them to harden for 1-2 hours.
Yield: 55 cookies
Note
Use only if your dog is non-reactive to gluten. For a gluten-free version, use ragi or millet aata in place of wheat and oat flour.
Apple Sesame Biscotti
Ingredients
2 Oats Flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
¼ cup honey
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 eggs
½ cup water
¼ cup sesame seeds
Method
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Knead the dough until firm.
Divide the dough into 2 equal portions.
Roll one portion to form a rectangle on the baking sheet using a rolling pin.
Repeat with the other portion.
Both the portions should fit on the same baking sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cookies are done when a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Remove and cut into 1- by 3- inch slices.
Bake the cookie slices at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
Turn them over, and bake an additional 10 minutes.
Turn the oven off.
Leave the biscotti to harden for 1 to 2 hours.
Yield: 70 biscotti
Peanut butter cookies
Ingredients
2 cups flour
½ cup peanut butter
2 eggs
¼ cup water
Method
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Roll out the dough and cut it into your favourite shape.
Place them on the baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Take them out and allow them to cool down.
Yield: 36 cookies

Pumpkin carrot dog food
Ingredients
¾ cup canned pumpkin
1 egg, slightly beaten
¼ cup shredded carrots
1 cup whole wheat flour
Method
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Make small balls of the dough and place on the baking sheet.
Flatten the balls with a fork.
Bake for 30-35 minutes.
Allow them to cool down for 1-2 hours.
Yield: 36 treats

Cranberry dog biscuits
Ingredients
2 eggs
1 ½ cups almond flour
1 Tbsp coconut oil
3-4 Tbsp coconut flour
½ cup dried cranberries
Method
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat the eggs and set aside.
Mix almond flour, oil and cranberries in a bowl.
Add the eggs and knead the dough with your hands.
Add the coconut flour 1 Tbsp at a time till the dough is easy to roll out.
Roll out the dough and cut the treats using cookie cutters.
Line the baking sheet with a parchment paper.
Place the cookies and bake for 15-20 minutes until crisp.
Apple oatmeal cookies
Ingredients
1 cup oatmeal
½ cup cinnamon apple sauce
1 large egg
Method
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Roll the dough into mini balls.
Place the balls on the baking sheet and flatten them with a spoon.
Bake for 22 minutes.
The cookies will be done if they easily slide off the tray.
Allow them to cool.
Banana oat cookies
Ingredients
1 cup oat or rice flour
2 ripe bananas, mashed
¼ cup unsweetened peanut butter
Method
Preheat oven to 325 F.
Mix the mashed bananas and peanut butter.
Add the flour one half at a time and mix properly.
Use your hands to form a solid ball of dough.
Roll out the dough and cut it into any shape you like.
Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Use a fork to poke 4 holes in the centre of each, to let steam escape.
Bake for 30-35 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow them to cool.

Ginger apple dog biscuit
Ingredients
1 cup brown rice flour
½ cup apple, finely diced
⅔ cup Greek yoghurt (plain)
½ tsp ginger (finely minced)
1 Tbsp coconut oil
Method
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Use your hands to knead a firm dough.
Roll the dough using a rolling pin.
Cut into desired shapes.
Place them on a baking sheet.
Bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
Allow them to cool.

Banana cinnamon dog treats
Ingredients
1 egg
¾ cup unsalted almond butter
⅓ banana (mashed)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Method
Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
The batter consistency should be very thick, unlike normal treat dough.
Make small balls of the dough and place them on the sheet.
Bake for 5 minutes.
Turn the cookies over and bake for 5 more minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Sweet potato dog food
Ingredients
1 sweet potato
1 Tbsp coconut oil (melted)
A pinch of turmeric
A pinch of cinnamon
Method
Preheat oven to 425 F.
Peel the sweet potato and cut into long fry-shaped pieces.
Coat with oil and spices.
Place the fries on a baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Turn them over and bake for another 10-15 minutes.
Let it cool down.
Peanut butter oat cookies
Ingredients
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
⅓ cup unsweetened peanut butter
1 ¼ cups hot water
Method
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Stir the peanut butter and water.
Start kneading the dough.
Sprinkle a bit more flour if the dough is too sticky.
Roll it out on a floured surface with a rolling pin.
Cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
Grease the cookie sheet.
Place the cookies on the sheet and bake for 40 minutes.
Allow it to cool.
